Do seek meat from God

I think the author did a very good job in using descriptive and vivid language to make the readers feel sympathy for both the child and the panther clubs. At first, one would want the hunter to kill the panthers because one doesn't want the child to die. However, at the end of the story, when the author disclosed the body of the two panther clubs, one would feel pity for them too. This story shows us that people benefit at the expense of others. Nothing ever comes for free. Just like the life of the child. In order to save the child, the lives of the two panther clubs were sacrificed. This story uses imagery to make the readers picture the wilderness of which the story took place. One can easily imagine how scared the child would be and how much the hunter would rather go home to his hot dinner and lovely wife. This story also contains the concept of survival of the fittest. Because the hunter was strong enough to kill the panther, he is the final victor. In nature, it is not always about who is right or wrong; it is about who is stronger. I really enjoyed reading this story because it brought me to the wilderness, witnessing the struggle between human and animals.

Love is....

Love is someone who dreams of your smile,
And find that in your presence,
All the sleepless nights are worthwhile.

Love is walking in the sunshine,
Hand in hand.
Listening to him whisper,
You are mine.

Love is kissing under the twilight,
Staring up at the sky,
Never letting him out of my sight.

Love is someone who knows you are wrong,
But is willing to fight by your side,
And remind you to be strong.

Love is telling him,
In words of my own,
He's the most precious person,
That I've ever known.

Love is listening to him talk real slow,
Of memories which no one else know.

Love can be simple as a hug,
But as addictive as a drug.

If we just open our eyes wide,
Love has no place to hide.

A Plea for the Physical

I am a person who perfers the sedentary rather than the physical. Being born into the 21st century, I grew up in an era where computers, cellphones, and cars are not luxuries but common household items. I can not nor do I want to imagine a time without these technologies. Why waste the time walking to someone's house when you can talk to each other on phones? Or better, drive there in a car! It not only saves time and energy, but also makes your life more productive.
I feel a sense of relief just to be able to sit or lie down. I do not understand why some people would want to do more physical activities and tire themselves out more than they have to. The exercises we do in our daiy lifes are enough for me, taking into consideration that I walk to school and home everyday, which is about an hour. For me, being physical means lots of sweat and a waste of time. Alternatively, the sedentary gives me space to myself. When I curl into a comfortable postion on my sofa, I feel peace and serenity. It's like everything doesn't matter at that point. I can close my eyes and not let anything, especially unpleasant thoughts disturb me. At that moment, I have the world to myself. It is a different feeling than feeling the peace when hiking in the woods. Therefore, it is no surprise that I enjoy riding on the subway rather than hiking in the woods; taking the escalator rather than the stairs; watching a hockey game on TV rather than having a sweaty workout; and checking my e-mail rather than shovelling snow in the freezing weather.
